Privacy policy

Off the Felt and offthefelt.poker. Effective 11 October 2026.

The app collects nothing

There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no server for the app to talk to. Nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere, because the app makes no network requests. It works fully in airplane mode.

Your progress, your streak, how well you know each skill and your reminder settings are written to your iPhone and stay there. They are included in your device backup if you back up your iPhone, under the terms of that backup. Nobody else can read them, including me.

• No account, email address or password is ever asked for.
• No analytics, crash reporting or usage tracking of any kind.
• No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
• No third-party code that sends anything anywhere.
• No real money, no wagering and no link to any gambling operator.

Practice reminders are local notifications, scheduled by iOS on your phone. Use Clear progress on the Stats screen to erase your progress, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. There is no copy anywhere else.

This website counts page views

The website is different from the app. To know which pages are read, it uses PostHog, an analytics service.

• What is recorded: the page you view, the page you came from, the campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), your browser and device type, an approximate location from your IP address, and a click on the App Store button.
• PostHog keeps an anonymous id in your browser so that two page views from the same visit are counted together.
• No name, email or account. No profile is built about you, and nothing is sold or used for advertising.
• The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs.

The App Store links carry a campaign tag so that App Store Connect can count how many downloads came from this site. Apple does not tell me who you are.

Children

Off the Felt is not directed at children. It teaches the arithmetic of poker. It contains no gambling, no wagering and no way to spend money.

Changes

If a future version of the app ever collects anything, this page will change before that version is released, and the App Store release notes will say so.
